Back-in-Action Rehabilitation Center is an independent private practice clinic dedicated to setting the highest standards for out-patient therapy. Their philosophy incorporates a strong emphasis on the client’s education and understanding. With four clinic locations, Back-in-Action is your partner in recovery and rehabilitation.
‘Back-in-Action is all about their experienced and talented staff. And right from the home page you’re introduced to one of their friendly staff members. The smiling face gives the page a warm, welcoming feeling and lets you know they care about their patients. The site has also incorporated more health news, videos and photos – a great resource of information.’ Julie Wild, Website Designer

A great deal of emphasis is being placed on including photos of staff and real customers. Real photos allow you to develop a relationship with Back-in-Action and your therapist even before you step in their doors for the first time. Secondly, including biographies of the staff – you have the opportunity to get to know the people there, not just professionally but personally. Lastly, blogging gives you power within your industry. In the What’s New section of Back in Action’s website they provide helpful tips or information that prove to their customers and competitors that they are the industry leader. If you ever have a question that relates to rehabilitation or therapy – Back-in-Action is the company to turn to!

Google has launched a trusted stores program that instantly denotes to people that this website provides great service and secure shopping. Our assumption is that this may indirectly affect your ranking at some point in the future. If you have an e-commerce website – now is the time to fill out the application and get on Google’s waiting list! Read about the program here.
LinkedIn’s new company status updates ‘let members receive further insights — breaking news about the company, employee moves, relevant job opportunities or the latest on their products and services including multimedia content — directly from the companies they follow.’ Basically, this means your company can now communicate with your followers in the same fashion that you currently use on Facebook. And since LinkedIn is a more professional setting, you might find it easier to communicate with other business that need your products and services. Read more about it here.
If you haven’t updated your website to follow the new online shopping trends, now is the time. In a market where people spend more time shopping from their couch (than in a store) it’s vital to ensure your website expands your market. Handling online sales in different languages and payment methods are tools to do just that. While this article is targeted at e-commerce websites, it also brings up interesting arguments for ensuring you are designing a website that allows all your target audiences to feel comfortable working with you.
Log into Facebook and look at your friend count. Then look at how many company pages you liked. Now go to your news feed and scroll. How far down do you have to scroll to get to the post your company made today? Pretty far – not there at all? If so, understanding how EdgeRank works will help bring your company posts to the top of the news feed.
Facebook’s EdgeRank algorithm works best when you have less fans and more engagement. This doesn’t mean you need to stop getting fans, since you need to find fans that enjoy engaging with your content. What it means is that you have to figure out what your fans want to engage in. To get started, look at other Facebook company pages and see which posts produce the most engagement. Our Social Marketing 101 package offers these features and many more.
The other day we received an email from Google stating that they ‘will soon update your listing data on our consumer properties such as Google and Google Maps to more accurately reflect the latest information we have about your business.’ After more research we found that this means Google might exchange the content you have added with content they feel ‘is more trustworthy’. If you haven’t reviewed your listing in the past six months, now would be the time. Give us a call if you want us to manage your local listings.
Having issues reaching out to your international market on Facebook? Tired of maintaining separate pages for each language? Finally there’s a solution that will allow for translations directly on your company Facebook page. If you’re a page admin, read this article to find out how to activate the translation service.
Well, not really – but you might be missing some important analytics the next time you log into Google Analytics. On Google’s blog, they stated ‘today the Google Search team announced that SSL Search on https://www.google.com will become the default experience for signed in users on Google.com.’ So, the millions of people that happen to use Google – while they are logged in – won’t see the keywords they use to find your site. This is a problem, because Google Analytics reports the keywords used when searching for your website. And with that information you can figure out which ones perform well and those that do not, and tweak the site to get the under-performing keywords to deliver better results. Read about it here.

The creators of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash have purchased a company that makes fonts ‘friendly’ for the web. The company is called Typekit, and now that an established company (Adobe) is backing it, you’ll see us using this service more often.
Here’s how it used to be:
Our clients requested a font such as Century Gothic for their website. Purchasing a font for a client is expensive, and embedding it into the website has its issues as well, such as making the site load slowly. The affordable and simple solution was to convert it to an image in Photoshop. The problem is that Google and the visually impaired have a difficult time reading images.
Now, with Typekit, we ‘lease’ the fonts and embed them into the site. They will perform well across many different browsers, are easy to read for the visually impaired, are search engine friendly, and save development time when updating the site. It’s a win-win for both our clients and the font creators. As for the lease, this will add a small additional fee to your regular monthly fees. Then again, your competition is or will be using it, so it’s a needed addition to any new website.

Facebook has begun to notify Page admins that it will be removing the Discussion tab application from all Pages on October 31st, 2011. Facebook says, ‘The best way to encourage conversation and feedback is through posts and comments on your wall.’ We have not seen many clients utilize the Discussion tab but noticed that it was active on our clients’ wall. For those, we recommend disabling the app so other tabs can become more apparent.
Here is what Facebook has to say about it.
As of Saturday, October 1st, Facebook will require ALL applications and page tabs to support HTTPS secure hosting, to ‘ensure that users browsing Facebook over HTTPS will have a great experience over a secure connection.’ At this time we don’t know exactly what will happen with the Page tabs that are not secure except that visitors will be thrown a warning – which might scare them away. Any wisnet.com clients using our Facebook Apps have nothing to worry about – we have you covered! If you’re using 3rd party apps, now would be the time to see if they work with HTTPs.
Is your Facebook Page using an app to provide a welcoming or landing page to visitors? If you’re not sure, log into your Facebook Page, click Edit Page, then click Apps on the left. Look for Welcome – FBML. If there, it’s a good possibility that you are. This app will be discontinued later this year, and when removed your visitors will be directed to the news feed. And this means you have a high chance of losing out on thousands of potential ‘Likes’. The good news is, we created our own custom landing page app that you can use. Give us a call to get started.

That’s right! Currently only a select few users get to enjoy the new feature, and if you’re one of them, you’ll have the opportunity to see what is happening on your site…now! In the past you would have to wait until the next day to see the results. Now, with real-time data being delivered to your monitor instantly, you’ll be able to watch traffic while, let’s say, an ad is being played on the local radio. It’s a great tool to see how your marketing dollars are being put to work…and it’s FREE!
