Job Description and Responsibilities:

A wisnet.com Web Developer II plays an essential role in strategic and tactical conversations reflecting marketing and web strategy. The position is part of a project team; works closely with a Project Manager, Designer, and UI Developer; and is instrumental in the direction, design, development and execution of cutting-edge websites and applications that reflect the company’s web strategy. Strong candidates will have at least three years experience programming with server-side and client-side languages (PHP, JavaScript preferred), possess strong program design and coding skills, and follow coding standards and best practices.This is a dynamic position and as a result, job responsibilities are fluid and can expect to change to meet organizational goals and objectives.

A Web Developer II is expected to:

  • Author HTML code, proprietary scripting logic (similar to PHP), and advanced scripting logic
  • Support web applications and websites
  • Follow coding standards and best practices
  • Test to ensure code performs reliably; runs securely; uses appropriate bandwidth and client-side resources; and is self documenting in its clarity and format
  • Stay abreast of trends and new products and services in the Information Technology industry
  • Be able to quickly gain the necessary skills to effectively utilize the technology to produce a solution. Self development may include on-line research, independent study of books, evaluating various third-party products or tools, and exploration.
  • Handle day-to-day tasks and miscellaneous issues
  • Mentor less-experienced Web Developers
  • All other duties or projects as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

  • HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, XML, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and database structure experience
  • Adherence to semantic, standards-compliant HTML
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Able to work at both a conceptual and detail level
  • Self-starter and independent worker
  • Willingness to learn and become proficient with proprietary development language
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment and to actively participate in team discussions involving both programmers and clients


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, technical degree in related field(s), or similar experience
  • Usability, and Information Architecture theory and practice knowledge
  • Google Apps experience
  • Mobile App development experience
  • Responsive Design understanding
  • SEO experience
  • Mobile website development experience
  • Agile development experience

Hours: Full time, 8a-5p, M-F

Salary / Hourly Rate Range:
