Barton Hammond

Quality Assurance / Developer

Barton has over 30+ years of development – from main frames to mobiles, green screens to touch, MSF to React Native, Event driven to Redux, and most of the trip on Emacs, his favorite code editor. He’s worked with numerous companies including McGraw-Hill, Wiltel/Vyvx, IBM, Dell and HomeAway in positions such as Principal Engineer and Technical Lead Developer. While at IBM, Barton was awarded the IBM Technical Achievement award for his work on a testing framework that earned him 3 patents.

Barton loves biking, both road and mountain. Even after suffering an infection of a total knee transplant and subsequently 3 major surgeries, his limited knee movement doesn’t stop him from getting out and enjoying the day.  While recovering from these surgeries, he created an Open Source project for mobile development that has been featured in online magazines and referenced by numerous other projects for his influence – and remains one the most popular projects for Facebook’s React Native.  His project is called Snowflake and has over 3,650 “likes” from other React Native developers.

Barton and his wife, Marilyn, have moved to Fond du Lac to be close to family.
